Planning is important

I went to Kobe from 10/25-10/27. I flew from Yamagata to Itami airport, caught a bus to Kobe and then got a taxi to the conference center. It was raining and we only had a short time to arrive before registration closed. We got our conference badges, bag of free goods and were in perfect time for the welcome party! Free wine and a chance to meet up with people from all over Japan. Perfect planning (except for the taxi!) - yes, but that's my problem. I'm very good at planning to get to the place I want, but it's the after palnning that I forget to do. I should have looked at good places to vist, eat and explore. To be honest, I only looked for board game shops and spent a lot of time walking around, wasting time, looking for a good place to eat. I planned my conference well - I attended a lot of good talks, but I should have also thought about the time outside work ... Next time I will be better prepared!
